【摘要】:AllS/Hsystemschangewithtimeanduse.Therefore,acalibrationprocedureforevaluatingtheoperationofanS/Hsystemisdesirable.Thiscalibrationprocedureprovidesamethodofobtaininganoptimizedinterferometricimagepatternassociatedwithagivensizeanomaly.TheuseofstrainingblocksascalibrationdevicesprovidesameansforensuringthecontinuedoptimalperformanceoftheS/Hsystem.StrainingblockscanalsobeusedtocompareperformanceofS/Hsystemsindifferentfacilities.Atnotgreaterthanathree(3)monthintervaltheS/Hsystemshallbecalibratedfollowingtheproceduresdescribedinthispractice.Whennecessary,adjustments,repairs,ormodificationsshallbemadetotheS/Hsystemuntilitisabletoobserve,inthesameimage,allanomaliesofsizewithintherangeofinterestcontainedinthestrainingblocks.1.1Thispracticedescribestheconstructionanduseofacalibrationdevicefordemonstratingtheanomalydetectioncapabilityofinterferometriclaserimagingnondestructivetireinspectionsystem.Acommonpracticewithintheindustryistorefertothesesystemsasshearographic/holographic(S/H)systems.1.2ThisstandardpracticeappliestoS/Hsystemsthatareusedforevaluatingthestructuralintegrityofpneumatictires,(forexample,presenceorabsenceofanomalieswithinthetire).1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
