【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodprovidessamplingplansthatareintendedforuseintheinspectionofmetallicandinorganiccoatingsonproductsforthepurposeofdecidingwhethersubmittedlotsofcoatedproductscomplywiththespecificationsapplicabletothecoating.1.2Thesamplingplansarevariablesplans.Inplansofthistype,severalarticlesofproductaredrawnfromaproductionlot.Acharacteristicofthecoatingonthedrawnarticlesismeasured.Thevaluesobtainedareusedtoestimatethenumberofarticlesinthelotthatdonotconformtoanumericallimit,forexampleaminimumthickness.Thenumberiscomparedtoamaximumallowable.1.3Variablesplanscanonlybeusedwhenthecharacteristicofinterestismeasurable,thetestmethodgivesanumericalmeasureofthecharacteristic,andthespecificationplacesanumericallimitonthemeasuredvalue.Itisalsonecessarythatthevariationofthecharacteristicfromarticletoarticleinaproductionlotbenormallydistributed(seeAppendixX2).Eacharticlemustbetestedinthesameway(forexample,coatingthicknessmustbemeasuredatthesamelocation,seeX2.7)sothatthevaluesfromarticletoarticlearecomparable.Ifoneormoreoftheseconditionsarenotmet,avariablesplancannotbeused.Instead,anattributesplanmustbeused.ThesearegiveninTestMethodB602andGuideB697.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
